A fresh summer menu at Murano

The Mayfair restaurant will be serving a new menu based on seasonal ingredients in August

Like the rest of London this summer, the à la carte menu at Angela Hartnett’s Michelin-starred restaurant Murano is taking a break for the month of August, replaced by a special menu that makes the most of the season’s ingredients.

The summer menu features seasonal ingredients including tomatoes, courgettes and artichokes

“I am completely spoilt for choice in terms of produce at this time of year, from tomatoes and strawberries to delicious courgette flowers,” says head chef Emily Brightman, who has created the new summer menu. “I do love being in London over the summer, especially when the weather is nice and we have our outdoor seating up and running.”

The menu starts with a choice of three dishes: cured salmon on rye, barbecued quail with charred sweetcorn, or beef carpaccio with caviar and truffle. The following primo will feature tomato agnolotti, carnaroli risotto or lobster linguine (£10 supplement). Next is a choice of courgette salad, artichokes or burrata. The fish course will offer John Dory with razor clams, cod with octopus and wild fennel, or turbot with seaweed butter and shellfish. The following meat dishes will see a choice of Herdwick lamb, smoked pork belly or duck breast with confit duck leg and pickled blackberries. And for pudding, there is a choice of caramelised Amalfi lemon tart with yoghurt sorbet, mascarpone parfait with strawberry and lemon verbena, chocolate marquise with cherry sorbet, or apricot soufflé with almond ice cream.

The menu is priced for three courses (£45 for lunch and £55 for dinner) and includes a Murano Summer Spritz cocktail to start. The restaurant’s sommelier has also chosen 20 wines, available by the glass (from £11) or the bottle (from £43), to be paired with the menu.

Murano’s August summer menu is perfect for a long lunch or dinner and – if the weather permits – even better eaten al fresco on the terrace.
