New private members’ club The Court opens in Soho

Soho's new private members’ club The Court will open on February 18 on the former Kingly Street site of Bag O’Nails – the music venue where Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones were regulars both on and off stage – promising “to be a place to listen to live music, dine at the restaurant and see stunning showcases of art,” says Harry Mead, founder and host.

The restaurant’s menu is yet to be finalised but one dish has been revealed – Cornish sea bream, pomegranate, red chilli and coriander oil

The Court Restaurant’s cuisine is to be developed in partnership with Tom Sellers of Restaurant Story and The Lickfold Inn – one of Britain’s youngest ever Michelin-starred chefs – executed under head chef Aaron Harris of Michelin-starred Northcote in Lancashire. The menu is yet to be announced but will be based on classics such as fruits de mer; truffle and white bean soup; and steak and frites. One teaser dish has been revealed – ceviche of Cornish sea bream, pomegranate, red chilli and coriander oil.

The artist Bradley Theodore will curate the venue’s art and design with flower arrangements by Wild at Heart’s Nikki Tibbles. Award-winning mixologist Ryan Chetiyawardana (and his Mr Lyan Studio team) has designed the cocktail selection for the basement bar – which has a modern twist on a Gatsby-esque style – that includes a Sayre Negroni, Colombo gin and Martini Ambrato (prices start from £11).

The club promises to provide a place where you can enjoy “dinner with an artist and a tech entrepreneur, while listening to great live music and sipping a cocktail”. Membership is £600
