Astrology-inspired cocktails star at Farzi Café

Toast the New Year with a cocktail that matches your star sign at London’s latest Indian cuisine outpost

Come the New Year, there will be many who look to astrology to predict how 2019 will unfold – and they can do so in good spirits at Farzi Café when it opens in London on January 18 offering a zodiac-inspired menu of cocktails alongside modern Indian cuisine.

The Vedika menu (£11-£14) will introduce 12 cocktails, three non-alcoholic, which are blended using cutting-edge centrifugal machines, and a “sonic homogeniser” (creating ultrasonic waves that allow the drinks to be infused with flavour). Tinctures, herbs and spices are added to represent each star sign and the selection includes Virgo’s Kanya in the West (“Kanya” in Hindi refers to the Indian solar calendar, which falls at the same time as the western star sign of Virgo) made with terroir gin, orange, citrus, honey, prosecco and frankincense ice cream. Geminis, on the other hand, might try the Harmonised Mithuna – a blend of Aquavit, vata spirit, grapefruit, clarified lemon, Belsazar rosé vermouth, salted hibiscus and soda.
