Le Pont de la Tour teams up with Thames Limo

Arrive at the Tower Bridge restaurant by water limousine

One may arrive for dinner in Venice by gondolier, but it’s rather less common in London to arrive by water – unless the restaurant happens to be Le Pont de la Tour, which has teamed up with Thames Limo, a water-limousine charter service, to ensure guests arrive in style.

With an unmistakable Bond-worthy Union Jack hull, the Venetian-crafted Serenella boat (first picture) will take guests past iconic landmarks such as the Palace of Westminster, Tate Modern and Globe Theatre, before docking at Le Pont de la Tour just by Tower Bridge. Prices start from £700 per hour for up to eight people, with the option of being greeted with cocktails and canapés and enjoying the outdoor terrace (second picture) – heated, of course – which has one of the best views in London.

Lunch or dinner (supplementary cost) will be served from the à la carte menu of classic French cuisine and wonderful seafood. Starters include Jersey rock oysters; salad of wood pigeon with spiced cauliflower, lentils, chestnut dressing and winter truffle; and seared duck foie gras with liver gallette and clementines. Main courses feature head chef Frederick Forster’s signature lobster thermidor, and the choice of loin of venison with poached pear and Parmentier potatoes, or braised fillet of halibut with cuttlefish and purple broccoli.

It’s all about the departure too, and Serenella can be chartered to pick up guests and take them back down the Thames. Anchors ahoy.
